Tasting Ghosts

At the opening of Peled's exhibition in 2026, in OA Gallery (Vitória, ES), desserts were offered, miniature ghosts produced in the shape of the monumental Pedra dos Olhos (Eyes Stone) that hovers over the capital of Espírito Santo. The gelatinous desserts were served under the trembling hands of the waiter and, at the same time, their tasting generated an internal tremor caused by the jambu cachaça that was part of the recipe to help digest our ghosts and our gazes. One of the particularities of combining performance with food manifests itself in a duality. While the body is an expressive instrument of the performer, the food performs on and with that same body; in this case, the food can perform both externally and internally.
